بارج bārij S (वारिज comp. of वारि Water, and ज Born) s. m. A lotus. بارج نين bārij- nayan, adj. Having eyes like the flower of the lotus.

خارج ḵẖārij A (from خرج Heb. ) part. or adj. Being out, external, out, without, outcast. خارج کرنا ḵẖārij karnā, To exclude, expel, dispossess.

خارجه ḵẖārija A s. m. The word at the bottom of a page which is repeated at the beginning of the next, an asterisk, a catchword.

خارجي ḵẖārij-ī A s. m. A sect of Muhammadans, who do not reckon Aﻌlī among the legal succes- sours of the prophet. They are the mortal enemies of the Rāfiẓīs or Shīʼaﻌs, who reject

خوارج ḵẖawārij A s. plur. of خارجي ḵẖārijī, q. v.

رجال rijāl A s. pl. (of رجل) Men. رجال الغيب rijālu-l-g̠ẖaib (by the Hindūs called योगिनी yoginī) s. m. An invisible being which moves in a circular orbit round the world: on the 1st, 9th, 16th, and 24th days of a lunar month, his station is in the east: on the 3d, 11th, 18th, and 26th, in the south-east: on the 5th, 13th, 20th, and 28th, in the south: on the 4th, 12th, 19th, and 27th, in the south-west: on the 6th, 14th, 21st, and 29th, in the west: on the 7th, 15th, and 22d, in the north-west: on the 2d, 10th, 17th, and 25th, in the north: and, on the 8th, 23d, and 30th, in the north-east. His influence on each day is especially exerted during nine ghaṛis, or three hours thirty six minutes, at the close of that tith or lunar day; and, in that interval, it is unfortunate to begin a journey towards the station of this being, or in such a direction as to place him on the right hand.

رجالا rijālā A. (for رزاله q. v.) adj. Mean, vulgar, rabble.

مخارج maḵẖārij A s. plur. (of مخرج from خرج Heb. ) Expenses, disbursements. See مخرج maḵẖraj.

مدارج madārij A s. plur. (of درجه or مدرج from درج Heb. and Aram. ) Steps, degrees, ascents, ways.

مندرج mundarij A (part. act. VII. of درج Heb. and Aram. ) adj. Contained, inserted, in- cluded, comprised, comprehending, containing.

منفرج munfarij A (part. act. VII. of فرج Aram. ) adj. 1. Open, separate. 2. Tranquil, contented, happy.
