اتپات उत्पात utpāt S s. m. A portent, phe- nomenon; violence, injustice, injury.

اسپات ispāt H (perhaps from the Portuguese es- pada) s. m. Steel (of a tough kind).

اپاتر अपात्र a-pātr S adj. Incapable, unfit, unworthy.

تيج پات tej-pāt त्वक्पत्र S̱. s. m. The leaf of the Laurus cassia, cassia.

جهپات jhapāt H s. f. Quickness.

سنپات sanpāt S or सन्निपात sannipāt, s. m. The name of a disease in which the body is seized with universal chilliness, Deliquium. (It is explained by the Hindū physicians to be that, in which the three humours, bile, phlegm, and atrabilis are corrupted).

سواپاتي sūʼā-pātī S̱. s. f. A game among chil- dren.

سپاتر सुपात्र su-pātr S adj. Worthy, fit, credit- able.

ناشپاتي nāshpātī P s. f. A pear. (Pyrus com- munis).

پات pāt पत्र S̱. s. m. 1. A leaf. 2. An orna- ment worn in the upper part of the ear. 3. A draught or check on a banker. پاتون آلگنا pā- toṅ-ā-lagnā, applied to trees, indicates the fall of their leaves in autumn: metaphorically, the phrase signifies that oneʼs power or ability is exhausted; and, this expression is often applied to patience exhausted by the scorn of a beloved person; or, to a destitute condition from ad- verse fortune.

پاتال पाताल pātāl S s. m. Regions, according to the Hindūs, under the earth or towards the south-pole, inhabited by a serpentine race; in- fernal regions; hell.

پاتر pātar H or pātur, 1. s. f. A prostitute, a dancing girl. 2. adj. Weak, lean.

پاتر पात्र pātr S or pātra, s. m. A vessel; adj. Capable, worthy, able, eligible, fit.
