پلنا palnā S̱. (पलन r. पल Preserve) v. n. To be reared, nourished or fattened, to thrive.

پنج panj P adj. 1. Five. (Sans. पंच). 2. Of seven years old (a horse). نئي پنج naye panj, Of five years old. ملي پنج male panj, Of ten years old. پن کپڙا pan-kapṛā S̱. (पानीय Water, and कर्पट Cloth) s. m. Soft cloth wetted and applied to a wound or sore.

پهلسنا philasnā S̱. (properly پهسـ لنا q. v.) v. n. To slip.

پروري parwar-ī P s. f. in compos. Fostering, nou- rishing, cherishing, &c.

پداس padās S̱. (from پادنا, Sans. r. पर्द) s. f. In- clination to fart, flatulency.

پاٿوني pāṭūnī H s. m. A ferryman.

پهول phūl फुल्ल S̱. s. m. 1. A flower, a blossom; boss, stud, bunch of ribands, &c. a cockade. 2. The menses, of which children are the fruit. 3. A swelling. 4. Bones of a dead person after the fleshy parts are burned. 5. Lights or fire (seen at night). 6. (in the plur.) A ceremony performed in honour of a deceased person on the third day after his death. پهول اٿهنا phūl uṭhnā, v. n. To be performed (a ceremony in honour of the dead), to complete the forty days of mourning. پهول پڙنا phūl paṛnā, v. n. To break out (a fire). پهول بيٿهنا phūl baiṭhnā, v. n.
