اسلامیه islāmiya A adj. Faithful, orthodox. H. S̱. اسل پسل جانا usal pusal jānā, v. n. To be agitated, to be tossed, to get into confusion.

امامیه imāmiya A (Followers) of the Imām; name of a Muhammadan sect, who make Alī the rightful imām immediately after Muhammad.

تسميه tasmiya A (inf. ii. of سمو or سمي) s. m. Nomination, giving a name to.

تعميه taﻌmiya A (inf. ii. of عمي) s. m. 1. Act of rendering blind. 2. Concealing the meaning of a sentence or discourse. (Generally applied to a chronogram after the manner of abjad, when the clause, which should give the date, fails in accuracy, and the excess or defect is obscurely indicated by another word. Ex. gr. ازحوض لطيف اب بردار az ḥauẓ-i-lat̤īf āb bardār, Draw water from the pellucid cistern. The letters in حوض لطيف make 943, from which substracting those of اب 3, we have the date required 940). 3. An enigma.

توميا tūmiyā H s. m. Thread made of carded cot- ton, in opposition to that made of what has been beat only (called Ākrā rūʼī).

خميازه ḵẖamiyāza T s. m. Gaping, yawning, stretching. خميازه کش ḵẖamiyāza-kash, part. Gaping, stretching, yawning. خميازه کشي ḵẖa- miyāza-kash-ī, s. f. Gaping, yawning. خميازه کهينچنا ḵẖamiyāza-khainchnā, v. a. To gape or yawn as after intoxication; (met.) to receive the punishment of oneʼs faults or crimes.
