معروض maﻌrūẓ A part. pass. (of عرض) Present- ed, offered, submitted; (subst.) A representa- tion, a petition.

معروف maﻌrūf

معروف maﻌrūf A (part. pass. of عرف) adj. 1. Known, notorious, noted, celebrated. 2. Active (voice of a verb). 3. The letters و and ي are said to be maﻌrūf, when the former has the sound of ū and the latter of ī; as in نور nūr, Splendour, and لڙکي laṛkī, A girl.
