آنکس ānkus S̱. or ankas or ankus (अंकुश) s. m. The hook or iron with which elephants are dri- ven, a goad. آنکس مارنا ānkus mārnā, To re- duce to submission, to bring to obedience.

انکر अंकुर ankur S s. A sprout or shoot.

اپسکن अपशकुन apa-sakun S s. m. Any un- lucky or inauspicious object or omen, a portent. S. اپسمار अपस्मार (from अप and r. स्मृ smr̤i, Recollect, remember) apa-smār, s. m. The epi- lepsy, falling sickness.

اکلانا akulānā S̱. (from आकुल Agitated, distres- sed) v. n. To be agitated, to be distracted, to be confused, to be out of order, to tire, to weary, to be astonished.

اکلینا a-kulīnā अकुलीन S̱. adj. Ignoble, of mean birth.

بالکل bi-l-kull A adv. Entirely, wholly.

بالکليه bi-l-kulliya A adv. See بالکل bi-l-kull.

بهرکٿي bhirkuṭī S or bhr̤ikuṭī (भृकुटी) s. f. 1. The eyebrow. 2. A frown, a contraction of the brows. P.A. بـﮩرکيف ba-har-kaif, adv. By any means.

بياکل byākul S (व्याकुल) adj. Perplexed, confounded, restless, agitated (in mind), uneasy.

بيکنٿهـ baikunṭh S (वैकुंठ) s. m. 1. A name of Vish̤ṇu. 2. The heaven or paradise of Vish̤ṇu.

بکش bu-kush P (imper. of کشتن) Kill, slay. P.A. بکف ba-kaff, In the hand.

بکل bakul S (वकुल) s. m. Name of a tree. (Same as مولسري. Mimusops elengi).

بکن ba-kun P imper. 2d pers. sing. (of کردن) Do. ¶ ba-kan (from کندن) Dig.

تحکم taḥakkum A (inf. v. of حکم) s. m. 1. Com- manding, ruling, dominion, power, authority. 2. Usurping authority. تحکم کرنا taḥakkum karnā, To command, rule, &c.

تراکم tarākum A (inf. vi. of رکم) s. m. Heaping together, the being thickly collected together, accumulation.
