اجله ajilla A s. plur. (of جلیل jalīl or اجل ajall) Illustrious men.

جلا jilā A s. f. Splendour, lustre, brightness, scouring, polishing. جلاکار jilā-kār, A polisher. جلاوطن jilā-wat̤an, s. m. Emigration, leaving oneʼs country. جلاوطني jilā-wat̤an-ī, s. f. Ba- nishment, expulsion from oneʼs native land. جلاوطن کرنا jilā-wat̤an karnā, To abandon oneʼs country, to exile. جلاوطن هونا jilā-wat̤an honā, To emigrate or abandon oneʼs country, to be exiled.

جلانا jilānā S̱. (caus. of جينا jīnā जीवन) v. a. 1. To give life to, to vivify, animate, to recover any thing almost dead. 2. To foster, to patronise.

جلد jild A (Heb. and Ch. ) s. f. 1. The skin, leather. 2. The binding of a book. 3. A vo- lume, book. جلدکرنا jild karnā, To bind (a book). جلدگر jild-gar, s. m. A bookbinder.

جلس jils A s. m. A companion, guest, comrade.

جلو jilau A. (for جلوه) s. f. A rein (of a horseʼs bridle), retinue, court, equipage, train, suit. جلودار jilau-dār, Attendant. جلوخانه jilau- ḵẖāna, An area, vestibule, porch, antichamber.

جلوا jilwā A. (or جلوه) s. m. The meeting of the bride and bridegroom (in presence of the rela- tions). جلوي کاگيت jilwe kā gīt, s. m. Epi- thalamium. ¶ jalwā, see جلوه jalwa.

خجل ḵẖajil A (from خجالت) adj. Modest, bashful, abashed, ashamed. ¶ ḵẖajal, s. Shame.

عاجل āﻌjil A part. act. (of عجل) Hastening, fleeting. adj. Transitory, agile.

مستعجل mustaﻌjil A (part. act. X. of عجل Heb. and Aram. ) adj. Hastening, alert.
