اجل ajal A s. f. The term of life, fate, death, the hour of death, the predestined time of death, a stated time, delay, respite, period for the pay- ment of a debt. اجل رسیده ajal rasīda, Over- taken by fate. اجل گرفته ajal-girifta, Seized by fate, on the point of death, in a situation that leaves no hopes of life, in the jaws of death.

اجل ajall A adj. compar. (from جلیل) More or most glorious.

اجل ujjal उज्जवल S̱. adj. Clear, pure, shining, luminous, bright, splendid, blown, expanded.

اجلت ujjalit S̱. (उत् and ज्वलित Blazing) adj. Pure, clean, clear.

اجلنا ujalnā S̱. (उज्जवलन from उत् and r. ज्वल Shine) v. n. To become clean, to shine, to be bright.

ارجل arjal A s. m. 1. A horse with one white foot. 2. A large-footed man.

ان جلا an-jalā S̱. adj. Unburnt.

تجلجل tajaljul A (inf. ii. of جلجل) s. Descending or entering into the earth, commotion.

جل jalla A v. 3. pers. past sing. (from جلال) Is eminent in majesty or glory. جل جلاله jalla jalālu-hu or جل شانه jalla shānu-hu, Eminent is His (Godʼs) glory or majesty.

جل ترنجي jal-taranjī S̱. s. f. Name of a musical instrument.

جل ترنگ जलतरंग jal-tarang S s. m. The musical glasses or harmonicon; playing on glasses or china bowls by rubbing the edges; a brass vessel in which water is put and the edges are beaten with two sticks.
