تمجيد tamjīd A (inf. ii. of مجد) s. f. The glorifi- cation of God; hence, the hymn or prayer that is pronounced from the minarets an hour and a half before dawn.

جيد jīd A s. The neck. ¶ jayad, s. Length of neck or slenderness of it with length.

جيدهر jīdhar H adv. Same as جدهر jidhar, q. v.

رنجيده ranjīda P part. pass. (of رنجيدن) Afflicted, offended, grieved, displeased, vexed, chagrined. رنجيده خاطر ranjīda-ḵẖāt̤ir, Afflicted in mind, displeased, grieved. رنجيده کرنا ranjīda karnā, To afflict, offend, displease, grieve.

رنجيدگي ranjīda-gī P s. f. Affliction, vexation.

سنجيده sanjīda P part. pass. (of سنجيدن) Weighed; (adjectively) Weighty, grave, composed, proved, approved.

سنجيدگي sanjīda-gī P s. f. Gravity, solemnity, seriousness.

مجيد majīd A (from مجد Heb. and Aram. ) adj. Glorious, honourable, noble.
