استثقال istis̤ḳāl A (inf. x. of ثقل Heb. He weighed) s. m. Heaviness, trouble, importunity.

استثنا istis̤nā A (inf. x. of ثني Heb. He turn- ed, &c.) s. m. Exception, distinction, ano- maly.

اٿبات is̤bāt A (inf. iv. of ٿبت Heb. To be fixed) s. Confirmation, proof, affirmation, as- certainment, certain knowledge. (The gender of this word in Hindī depends on that of the ob- ject; as, اٿبات مدعيٰ کیا is̤bāt-i-muddaāﻌ kiyā, اٿبات تقریرکي is̤bāt-i-taḳrīr kī): (Hunter).

اٿنا عشر is̤nā aﻌshar A Twelve; the twelve Imāms. اٿنا عشري is̤nā-aﻌshar-ī, adj. Relating to the twelve (Imāms).

ثالث s̤ālis̤ A (from ثلث) s. m. 1. The third. 2. An umpire, an arbitrator, a mediator. ثالث ثلاثه s̤ālis̤ s̤alās̤a, s. m. Trinity. ثالث بالخير s̤ālis̤ bi-l-ḵẖair, An unprejudiced arbitrator.

ثالثه s̤ālis̤a A s. f. An arbitress, a mediatrix.

ثالثي s̤ālis̤-ī A s. f. Arbitration.

حادث ḥādis̤ A (from حدث Heb. Was new, existed for the first time) adj. New, just ap- pearing. حادث هونا ḥādis̤ honā, To appear, to emerge, to happen, to occur.

حادثه ḥādis̤a A s. m. A novelty, incident, acci- dent, occurrence, event, adventure, calamity, misfortune.

حانث ḥānis̤ A (part. act. of حنث) s. m. A perjurer.

حوادث ḥawādis̤ A s. plur. of حادثه q. v. A. P. حوادثات ḥawādis̤-āt, s. plur. of plur. Occur- rences, misfortunes.

حيثيت ḥais̤iyat A (from حيث) s. f. 1. Ubi- quity, universality. 2. Capacity, ability, merit. 3. Conditional proposition.

دثار dis̤ār A s. An upper garment. (The word is used in opposition to شعار, and like the latter sometimes in compos. to denote habit, custom, &c.).

لثه lis̤a A s. The gums.
