چين chīn P (from چيدن) part. act. in comp. Ga- thering, picking, collecting; gatherer, picker.

چين chīn P s. f. 1. Fold, plait, wrinkle, crease. چين ابروهونا chīn-abrū honā, or چين بجبين هونا chīn ba-jabīn honā, To frown. چين پرچين هونا chīn par chīn honā, To become wrinkled from fat. چين ڐالنا chīn ḍālnā, To crease. چين لينا chīn lenā, To crumple. چين ماننا chīn mānnā, To acquiesce or submit to blame or loss. 2. s. m. چيني chīn-ī H s. f. Sugar (coarse; being, per- haps, so named from چين chīn, China, whence it might have been first brought to India; as, sugar-candy is called مصري miṣr-ī apparently from مصر miṣr, Egypt).
