بان bān A s. m. 1. Name of a tree, سهجنا sahaj- nā (Guilandina moringa) the seeds of which are called ḥabbu-l-bān, Ben-nut; or, according to some, بکاين bakāyan (Melia sempervirens). 2. Name of the tree which yields Benzoin (Styrax Benzoe). 3. A tree, the leaves and flowers of which are sweet-scented, called by the Persians Bed-mushk.
