خم ḵẖam P 1. adj. Twisted, crooked, coiled, curved, bowed. 2. s. m. A coil, fold, ply, curl, ringlet, bend, curve, crook, bending, crookedness. 3. That part of a noose which encircles the neck. خم اندر خم ḵẖam andar ḵẖam or خم در خم ḵẖam dar ḵẖam, Twist within twist, curly, curling locks. خم ٿهونکنا بجانا يا مارنا ḵẖam-ṭhonknā, -bajānā, or -mārnā, v. a. To strike the hand against the arms previous to wrestling, &c., to challenge (as wrestlers do). خم چم ḵẖam-cham, or خم و چم ḵẖam-o-cham, 1. s. m. Coquetry, blandishment of a mistress. 2. adj. Elegant, graceful. خم چوگان ḵẖam-i-chaugān, s. m. The bat or instrument with which the game of چوگان chaugān is played. خم دار ḵẖam-dār, adj. Twisted, curled, bent, crooked, curved.

خمر ḵẖamr A (from خمر Heb. To be hot, to boil, to ferment) s. m. 1. Wine, spirituous liquors. 2. Covering, hiding. 3. Fermenting, leavening.

خمس ḵẖams A (Heb. ) adj. Five.

خموش ḵẖamosh P (contract. of خاموش) adj. Si- lent, dumb; silence! (Pers. plur. خموشان).

خموشي ḵẖamosh-ī P s. f. Silence.

خميازه ḵẖamiyāza T s. m. Gaping, yawning, stretching. خميازه کش ḵẖamiyāza-kash, part. Gaping, stretching, yawning. خميازه کشي ḵẖa- miyāza-kash-ī, s. f. Gaping, yawning. خميازه کهينچنا ḵẖamiyāza-khainchnā, v. a. To gape or yawn as after intoxication; (met.) to receive the punishment of oneʼs faults or crimes.

خميدني ḵẖamīdan-ī P adj. To be bent.

خميده ḵẖamīda P part. Crooked, bent, curved. خميده قد ḵẖamīda-ḳadd, adj. Bent in stature.

خميدگي ḵẖamīda-gī P s. f. Crookedness.

خمير ḵẖamīr A (from خمر) s. m. Leaven, whatever is used to ferment.

خميره ḵẖamīra A (from خمر) s. m. Leaven, whatever is used to ferment.

رخم raḵẖam A s. m. Name of a bird of the vulture kind (see Bruceʼs Travels): or, a pelican.

مخمس muḵẖammas A (part. pass. II. of خمس Heb. ) 1. s. m. A kind of verse containing five lines, a pentagon. 2. adj. Quintupled, pen- tangular. (Plur. مخمسات muḵẖammasāt).
