بازخواست bāz-ḵẖẉāst P s. f. Reiterated inqui- ry, minute in- vestigation or examination.

بازخواه bāz-ḵẖẉāh P s. A requirer, an inves- tigator.

تنخواه tan-ḵẖẉāh P s. f. Wages, an assignment (on the revenues). تنخواه دار tanḵẖẉāh-dār, One who receives pay or salary, a holder of an order for wages. تنخواه داري tanḵẖẉāh-dār-ī, s. f. Receiving pay, service.

خواب ḵẖẉāb P s. m. f. 1. Sleep. 2. A dream. 3. Nap (of cloth). خواب آلوده ḵẖẉāb-ālūda, adj. Sleepy. خواب خيال ḵẖẉāb-ḵẖiyāl, s. m. Spectre, phantom, delusion. خواب ديکهنا ḵẖẉāb dekhnā, To dream. خوابگاه ḵẖẉāb-gāh, Sleeping-apartment, bed-room, dormitory. خواب ناک ḵẖẉāb-nāk, adj. Sleepy, drowsy.

خوابيده ḵẖẉābīda P (from خوابيدن) part. Sleeping, asleep.

خواجه ḵẖẉāja P s. m. A man of distinction, a rich merchant, a gentleman, a governour. خواجه خضر ḵẖẉāja ḵẖiẓr, n. prop. The name of a prophet skilled in divination, and who is said to have discovered the water of life; hence, he is considered as the saint of waters. The Mu- hammadans offer to him oblations of lamps, flowers, &c. placed on little rafts and launched on the river, particularly on Thursday evening in the month of bhādoṅ: and, it is in his ho- nour that the feast of the beṛa, q. v. is held. خواجه زاده ḵẖẉāja-zāda, s. m. Master. خواجه سرا ḵẖẉāja-sarā, s. m. An eunuch.

خوار ḵẖẉār P 1. adj. Poor, distressed, deserted, abandoned, friendless, wretched, contemptible, abject, ruined. 2. part. act. (from خواردن) in compos. Eating, devouring, eater, drinking, drinker; suffering, sufferer.

خواري ḵẖẉār-ī P 1. s. f. Baseness, meanness, contemptibleness, vileness, abjectness, distress. 2. in compos. Eating, drinking; suffering.

خواست ḵẖẉāst P (from خواستن) s. f. Desire, wish, request. خواستگار ḵẖẉāst-gār, s. m. Can- didate, competitor, bidder. خواستگاري ḵẖẉāst- gār-ī, s. f. Competition, candidateship, desire.

خواسته ḵẖẉāsta P (from خواستن) part. pass. De- sired, wished for, having willed or wished.

خوان ḵẖẉān P 1. s. m. A tray. خوانچه ḵẖẉān- cha, s. m. A small tray. خوان پوش ḵẖẉān- posh, s. m. A cloth for covering a tray, a tray lid. 2. part. act. (from خواندن) used in compos. Reading, singing, repeating, reader.

خوانده ḵẖẉānda P part. pass. (of خواندن) Read; (adjectively) Having the knowledge of reading and writing. نا خوانده nā-ḵẖẉānda, adj. Igno- ramus, one who cannot read.
