احب aḥabb A adj. compar. (of حبیب) More beloved, very or most lovely, amiable; a friend.

حب ḥabb A s. f. 1. A berry, grain of corn, fruit, &c. 2. (usually in Hind.) A pill. (Pl. حبوب ḥubūb).

An asthma. A. H. حبشني ḥabshanī, s. f. A female Abyssinian.

حبشي ḥabsh-ī A (belonging to حبش) adj. Abys- sinian, a Caffre, negro.

حبل ḥabl A (Heb. ) s. m. 1. Rope, cord. 2. A league, alliance, compact. حبل الوريد ḥablu-l-warīd, Jugular vein.

حبه ḥabba A s. m. 1. One berry, one grain, one seed. 2. A particle, a part. 3. A measure equal to two barley-corns.

حبيب ḥabīb A (from حبّ) adj. used substan- tively, Beloved, a lover, sweetheart, a friend, a mistress.

محبت muḥabbat A (orig. محببت from حبّ)

مرحب marḥab A (from رحب Heb. ) 1. s. m. Amplitude. 2. adj. Large, spacious, wide.

مرحبا marḥabā (lit. A may you enjoy a spacious abode!) interj. Hail! welcome! God bless you! bravo!

مستحب mustaḥabb A (part. pass. X. of حبّ Heb. ) adj. Desirable.

مصاحبت muṣāḥabat A (inf. III. of صحب) s. f. Companionship, society, communion.
