احمقي aḥmaḳ-ī A. s. f. Folly.

قمقمه ḳumḳuma A (from قمقم To collect, to hold, to be plunged in water) 1. A jug, a pitcher; (hence, in Hind.) a vessel in which the red mixture is contained with which they play at the holī. 2. A round shade or lantern.

مقفا muḳaffā A (for مقفيٰ part. pass. II. of قفو) adj. 1. Measured (prose). 2. (subst.) An oration rhythmically composed.

مقفل muḳaffal A (part. pass. II. of قفل Chald. and Aram. ) adj. Locked.

مقل muḳl A s. Bdellium. (In Hind. گوگل).

مقلب muḳallib A part. act. (II. of قلب) Turning, turner, converter.

مقلد muḳallad A (part. pass. II. of قلد) adj. Counterfeited, imitated.

مقلوب maḳlūb A (part. pass. of قلب) adj. Turned, inverted, converted. مقلوب مستوي maḳlūb-mustavī, A word or sentence which may be read backward or forward as درد dard (or in English madam), a palindrome.

مقناطيس miḳnāt̤īs G. s. m. The magnet, the load- stone. See مغناطيس mig̠ẖnāt̤īs.

مقنع maḳnaﻌ A prop. miḳnaﻌ (noun of instr. from قنع) s. m. A veil of muslin or other cloth worn over the head and reaching almost to the ground. (Chiefly, applied to a brideʼs veil).

مقوله maḳūla A (part. pass. fem. of قول) adj. Said, repeated over and over again. s. m. A maxim, saying, adage, proverb, aphorism.

مقوم muḳauwim A (part. act. II. of قوم) adj. Rightly disposing, adjusting, directing, fixing a price.

مقوي muḳauwī A (part. act. II. of قوي Heb. ) adj. Strengthening, invigorating. مقوي دل muḳauwī-i-dil, Cardiack. مقوي دماغ muḳauwī- i-dimāg̠ẖ, Cephalick. مقوي کبد muḳauwī-i-kabid, Hepatick. مقوي معده muḳauwī-i-miﻌda, Tonick.

مقياس miḳyās A (noun of instrum. of قوس) s. m. 1. The style of a dial, gnomon, the hand of a watch, &c. 2. The Nilometer in Egypt.

مقيت muḳīt A (part. act. IV. from قوت) adj. Powerful, a guardian, keeper, feeder or nou- risher.
