افعيٰ afʼāﻌ A (vulg. afīﻌ) s. m. A serpent, basilisk, asp, viper.

بالفعل bi-l-fiﻌl A adv. In the fact, actually, at this moment, at present, for the present, for the present moment, now, in short: in the mean time.

دفعه dafʼaﻌ A s. f. Time, a moment, one time, one turn. دفعه بدفعه dafʼaﻌ ba-dafʼaﻌ, adv. From time to time, repeatedly. دفعه دار dafʼaﻌ-dār, s. m. An officer of cavalry so called.

دفعيه dafʼīﻌya A. s. m. Repulsion, averting.

شافعي shāfi-īﻌ A n. prop. 1. One of the chiefs of the four principal sects of the Muhammadan religion. 2. adj. Following the sect of Shāfiīﻌ.

شفعه shufʼaﻌ A (from شفع) s. m. Any possession coveted. حق شفع ḥaḳḳ-i-shufʼaﻌ, Right of preemption in favour of a person whose posses- sions adjoin to a land offered for sale.

مفعول mafʼūﻌl A (part. pass. of فعل Heb. and Aram. ) 1. Accusative or other objective case. 2. The participle passive.

منفعل munfaʼiﻌl A (part. act. VII. of فعل Heb. and Aram. ) adj. 1. Disturbed, afflicted, affected. 2. Bashful, abashed, ashamed.

نفعه nafʼaﻌ A. s. m. (dakh.) See نفع nafﻌ.
