فصيح faṣīḥ A (from فصح) adj. Eloquent, sweet (tongued). (Pers. plur. فصيحان).

في fī A prepos. 1. In, into among, of, to, with, for, by, concerning. 2. Each (or, for each), per; as, في من fī man, Per maund, &c. في البديـﮩ‍ه fi-l-badīha, adv. Readily, quickly, extempore. في الجمله fi-l-jumla, Upon the whole. في الحال fi-l-ḥāl, Instantly, on the spot, immediately, di- rectly, now. في الحقيقت fi-l-ḥaḳīḳat, adv. Really, truly, in effect, in fact, indeed. في الفور fi-l-faur, adv. Now, instantly, in short, immediately, directly. في المثل fi-l-mas̤al, adv. Allegori- cally. في الناروالسقر fi-n-nāri wa-s-saḳar, In hell flames. في الواقع fi-l-wāḳiﻌ, adv. In fact, indeed, certainly, very true.

فايز fāʼịz A part. act. (of فوز) Overtaking, reaching, obtaining.

فزا fazā P or fizā, part. in compos. (from فزودن) Increasing. See افزا afzā.

فـﮩرست fihrist P (adopted in Arab. فـﮩرس) s. f. An inventory, list, index, table of contents, &c.

فنا fanā A (from فني To vanish, to perish: analog. to Heb. To turn) s. f. Mortality, frailty, perdition, destruction, death. فنا هو جانا fanā hojānā, To perish.

فرمايش farmāʼịsh P (from فرمودن) s. f. An order (particularly for goods, &c.), commission, any thing commissioned, pleasure, will, commands.
