اعراب iﻌrāb A (inf. iv. of عرب) s. m. The no- tation of the vowel points, the vowel or diacri- tical points.

اعراض iﻌrāẓ A (inf. iv. of عرض) s. m. Aversion, avoiding, dislike, averseness. اعراض کرنا iﻌrāẓ karnā, To avoid, turn from, decline.

اعراف aﻌrāf A s. m. Purgatory, a wall inter- vening between heaven and hell.

اعرج aﻌraj A adj. Lame by nature, lame.

تعرض taʼaﻌrruẓ A (inf. v. of عرض) s. m. Resisting, preventing, hinderance, obstacle, opposition, im- pediment.

شعرا shuʼaﻌrā A s. plur. (of شاعر shāʼiﻌr) Poets.

عرابه aﻌrāba P s. m. A car, a chariot, a cart.

عرابچي aﻌrāb-chī P s. m. A carter or driver of an عرابه.

عراق iﻌrāḳ A n. prop. A territory which is divided into two portions; عراق عرب iﻌrāḳ-i-aﻌrab, The ancient Babylonia or Chaldea; and عراق عجم iﻌrāḳ-i-aﻌjam, comprehending Media. عراقان or عراقين The two cities of Basra and Kūfa.

عراقي iﻌrāḳ-ī A 1. adj. Produced in or belonging to iﻌrāḳ (especially applied to a breed of horses from that country). 2. s. m. A Par- thian.

عرايض aﻌrāʼịẓ A s. f. plur. (of عرض aﻌrẓ) Petitions, &c.

عرب aﻌrab A s. m. 1. Arabia. 2. An Arabian.

عربده aﻌrbada A s. m. A conflict, dispute, battle, antipathy.
