ابطل abt̤al A adj. compar. (of باطل) More, or most vain or fruitless.

اصطلاح iṣt̤ilāh A (inf. viii. of صلح) s. f. A phrase, idiom, technical term, figure in rhetorick. (Pl. اصطلاحات).

اصطلاحي iṣt̤ilāḥ-ī A adj. Idiomatical, phraseological, technical. اصطلاحي معني iṣt̤ilāḥī maﻌnī, Idiomatical meaning or acceptance.

باطل bāt̤il A (from بطل) adj. False, vain, absurd, futile, ineffectual, ignorant, abolished. باطل السحر bāt̤ilu-s-siḥr, Annuller of enchantment, what or who frustrates incantation.

بطل bat̤l A s. m. Rendering vain, abortive or of no effect.

بطلان but̤lān A s. f. Abortion, falseness, vanity, the becoming of no effect.

تعطل taʼaﻌt̤t̤ul A (inf. v. of عطل Heb. Was idle, slothful) s. m. 1. Idleness. 2. Having no bracelets or other ornaments.

رطل rat̤l A s. m. 1. A pound (consisting of twelve ounces). 2. A cup of wine.

طل t̤all A s. The dew.

طلا t̤ilā P s. m. 1. Gold. 2. Gold fringe. طلابافي t̤ilā-bāf-ī, s. f. Gold-tissue. طلاساز t̤ilā-sāz, or طلاکار t̤ilā-kār, s. m. A gilder. طلاکاري t̤ilā-kār-ī, s. f. Gilding.

طلا t̤ilā A s. An ointment, liniment, embrocation. طلاکرنا t̤ilā karnā, To anoint, besmear, embro- cate.

طلاق t̤alāḳ A (from طلق) s. f. Divorce, repudia- tion.
