اسباب asbāb A s. m. (plur. of سبب) 1. Causes, motives, means. 2. Goods and chattels, effects, furniture, tools, apparatus, stores, baggage, ma- terials, necessaries. اسباب جنگي asbāb-i-jangī, Warlike provisions or necessaries, ammunition.

اسباط asbāt̤ A s. plur. (of سبط sibt̤) Tribes (es- pecially of Israel).

بسباسه basbāsa A s. m. Mace (the spice so called). P. A. بسبب ba-sabab, By reason, on account.

بسبسانا bisbisānā H v. n. To yield a sound as in the fermentation of putrefying vegetables or of vinous liquors. See بج بجانا.

رسبتي ras-batī S̱. 1. (रसवती) See رسوت ra- saut. 2. (रसवर्त्ति) A port-fire.

سبا sabā A n. prop. A country in Arabia Felix, where they suppose Bilḳīs, the queen who vi- sited Solomon, to have reigned.

سبابه sabbāba A s. The forefinger.

سباس सुवास सु Good, and वास Smell su- bās S. s. f. Sweet smell, fragrance, odour, perfume.

سباقت sabāḳat A s. f. See سبقت sabḳat.

سبب sabab A (Heb. from سبّب To cause, or Heb. To turn, q. d. A turn of affairs) s. m. 1. Cause, reason, motive. 2. Relation- ship, affinity. 3. Instrument.

سببيت sababīyat A (from سبب) s. f. Cause, motive.

سبت subbat A (from سبّ To cut, to wound, to slander) s. f. 1. Reproach, slander, disgrace, injury, villainy. 2. The podex.

سبحان subʼḥān A s. m. Praising, glorifying (God). سبحان الله subʼḥāna-llāh, interj. O God! O holy God! Good God! Ha! سبحانه subʼḥāna-hu, Praise to him!

سبحاني subʼḥān-ī A adj. Of God, divine.
