اشرفي ashrafī P s. f. A gold coin so called. (The Calcutta ashrafī is worth ₤1. 11s. 8d. and the gold of it is better than English standard gold by five shillings in the ounce, or about 1/16. By the regulations of May 1793, it should weigh 190.894 grains troy).

برفي barf-ī P s.f. A kind of sweetmeat. adj. Icy, snowy.

تصرفي taṣarruf-ī A. s. f. Common provisions given to dependants, &c. (خاصه ḵẖāṣṣa, being what the master and his company eat).

خرفه ḵẖurfa A (from خرف To pluck fruit from a tree, Heb. To strip off honours or deco- ration, to inflict ignominy) s. m. 1. That which is plucked from a tree. 2. Autumnal fruit.

خرفه ḵẖurfa P s. m. Purslain. (Portulaca ole- racea).

رفو rafū A s. m. Darning, a darn. See رفا rafā. رفوچکر rafū-chakkar, Making oneʼs escape, stealing off. رفوچکرمين آجانا rafū chakkar meṅ ā-jānā, To be lost in astonishment. رفوکرنا rafū karnā, To darn. رفوگر rafū-gar, s. m. A darner. رفوگري rafū-gar-ī, s. f. The employ- ment of darning. رفوهونا rafū honā, To run away, to retire.

رفيع rafīﻌ A (from رفع) adj. High, sublime, elevated, exalted. رفيع الشان rafīʼuﻌ-sh-shān, A person of dignity, a nobleman of high rank. رفيع القدر rafīʼuﻌ-l-ḳadr, Of high estimation. رفيع المکان rafīʼuﻌ-l-makān, Of exalted rank.

رفيق rafīḳ A (from رفق See رفاقت) s. m. f. A friend, ally, associate, companion, comrade, ac- complice, adherent. (Pers. plur. رفيقان).

سرفه surfa P s. A cough.

صرفه ṣarfa A s. f. 1. Expense, expending. 2. Profusion, profit, utility, surplus, redundancy, addition. 3. The twelfth mansion of the moon, a star in the tail of Leo.

طرفه t̤urfa A adj. Wonderful, strange, rare, agreeable (any thing).
