اجلاس ijlās A (inf. iv. of جلس) s. f. Seating, causing to sit.

اجلاف ajlāf A s. plur. (of جلف jilf) Vile, ig- noble, unjust people.

اجلال ijlāl A (inf. iv. of جلّ) s. m. The bestowing or acknowledging of greatness; magnificence, glory, honour, respect.

اجلانا ujlānā S̱. (caus. of اجالنا) v. a. To cause to cleanse, to brighten.

اجلت ujjalit S̱. (उत् and ज्वलित Blazing) adj. Pure, clean, clear.

ان جلا an-jalā S̱. adj. Unburnt.

انجلا anjlā अंजलि S̱. s. m. The cavity formed by putting the hands together and holding the palms as if to receive water; as much as can be held in both hands so dis- posed.

تجلجل tajaljul A (inf. ii. of جلجل) s. Descending or entering into the earth, commotion.

جلا jalā S̱. or jallā (from जल) s. m. A lake.

جلا jilā A s. f. Splendour, lustre, brightness, scouring, polishing. جلاکار jilā-kār, A polisher. جلاوطن jilā-wat̤an, s. m. Emigration, leaving oneʼs country. جلاوطني jilā-wat̤an-ī, s. f. Ba- nishment, expulsion from oneʼs native land. جلاوطن کرنا jilā-wat̤an karnā, To abandon oneʼs country, to exile. جلاوطن هونا jilā-wat̤an honā, To emigrate or abandon oneʼs country, to be exiled.

جلاب jullāb A s. m. A purge. (q. d. Drawing, from جلب Drew; and, in this sense, it is generally used in India: but, Golius says) A mixture of water and sirup (perfumed with rose- water, from Pers. گل A rose, and آب Water); hence, julap. S̱.H. جلا بلا jalā-balā, adj. 1. Fretful, passionate. 2. Scorched. See جل بل. S̱.H. جلا بهنا jalā-bhunā, adj. Passionate, hot-tem- pered. S̱.H. جلاپا jalāpā, s. m. (dakh.) Envy, anger.

جلاد jallād A s. m. An executioner; (and, hence) cruel, hard-hearted (q. d. one who skins or flays, from جلد The skin). جلاد فلک jallād-i-falak, The planet Mars.

جلادت jalādat A s. f. Activity, agility, strength.

جلادي jallād-ī A. s. f. The office of an executioner, cruelty, villainy.
