اجتماع ijtimāﻌ A (inf. viii. of جمع) s. m. 1. Act of assembling or gathering together; agreeing together (in opinion), assemblage, collection, accumulation, afflux. 2. Conjunction (in as- tronomy).

اجتناب ijtināb A (inf. viii. of جنب) s. m. Turning aside from, avoiding; abstinence, continence.

اجتهاد ijtihād A (inf. viii. of جهد) s. m. Exer- tion, effort.

اپجتن upa-jatan S̱. s. m. Preparation, exertion.

برجتيا barjatiyā H s. m. An innocent kind of snake. (Perhaps, from s. r. वृज Leave). H. S̱. برجري bur-jarī, s. f. A term of abuse (applied to a woman).

جتن jatan यत्न S. s. m. Carefulness, remedy, care, effort, endeavour.

جتنا jitnā H m. adj. How much, so much, as much as, as many. (Sans. यावत्). جتني مين jitne meṅ, In as much (time) as.

جتنا ئينگي jatn-āʼeṅgī S̱. s. f. (dakh.) Caution, care- fulness, care.

جتني jatanī S̱. (from यत्नी) adj. Careful.

جتها jathā यूथ S̱. s. m. A company, band,

جتها यथा jathā S adv. As, according to. جتها جوگيه jathā-jogya, or جتها يوگ jathā-yog (यथायोग्य) In a proper manner, suitably, properly.

جتهارتهـ यथार्थ jathārth S adv. In fact, exactly, truly.

جتوانا jutwānā S. (causal of جتانا jutānā, q. v.) v. a. To cause to join or yoke.

جتي jatī यति S̱. s. m. 1. A sage whose pas- sions are completely under subjection. 2. A re- ligious mendicant, especially one of the Jain sect.
