اوباشي aubāsh-ī P s. f. Rakishness, dissoluteness, debauchery, dissipation, attending at games and spectacles.

باشنده bāshanda P part. act. (from باشيدن To remain) Inhabitant. (Pers. plur. باشندگان).

باشه bāsha P s. m. A hawk, a sparrowhawk.

باشين bāshīn H s. f. The female of باشه or باشا a kind of hawk or falcon.

شاباشي shābāsh-ī P (contract. of شادباشي) s. f. Praise, applause.

طباشير t̤abāshīr A s. f. The sugar of the bamboo. See بنس لوچن bans-lochan.

قزل باشي ḳazal-bāshī T (comp. of t. قزل ḳizil, Red, and باش The head) s. m. A kind of Mug̠ẖal soldier. The ḳazal-bāshīs are consi- dered to be the descendants of the captives given to Shaikh Haidar by Tamerlane. They wore the red caps assumed by those captives as a mark of distinction, and are considered as the best troops of the Persian armies.

کشکچي باشي kashakchī-bāshī T s. m. A watch- man, guard, porter.
