جلندهر jalandhar S̱. (जलोदर) s. m. The dropsy.

جل jalla A v. 3. pers. past sing. (from جلال) Is eminent in majesty or glory. جل جلاله jalla jalālu-hu or جل شانه jalla shānu-hu, Eminent is His (Godʼs) glory or majesty.

جهانجهي jhānjhī H s. f. A kind of play. (Chil- dren in the month of Āsin go about at night, dancing, begging, and carrying on their heads earthen pots perforated on all sides, within which lamps are kept burning).

جلوه jalwa A (or jilwa) s. m. 1. Splendour, lus- tre. 2. The bridal bed or ornaments. جلوه گاه jalwa-gāh, s. f. Nuptial throne, place of display. جلوه گر jalwa-gar, adj. Splendid, conspicuous. جلوه گري jalwa-gar-ī, s. f. 1. Blandishments, affectation. 2. Conspicuity, splendour.

جهيل jhīl H s. f. A lake.

جهڙاکها jhaṛākhā गवाक्ष S̱. s. m. A skylight.

جهونکنا jhonknā H v. a. To cast, to push, to throw, to toss; to cast fuel into (an oven).

جوار jiwār A or juwār, s. m. Neighbourhood, vi- cinity, adjacency.

جي هو jai hau S̱. (in Braj जैहौ) v. 2d pers. plur. fut. (of جانون) You will go.

جوتي سوروپ jotī-swarūp ज्योतिःस्वरूप S̱. Self-resplendent; an epithet of God.
