الحال al-ḥāl A adv. Now, at present, presently, just now.

التفات iltifāt A (inf. viii. of لفت Heb. He bent, inclined) s. f. Friendship, kindness, obli- gation, courtesy, respect, regard, attention; an apostrophe (in rhetorick). التفات کرنا iltifāt karnā, To attend to, to have regard or respect.

ابدا abadaṉ A adv. Eternally, never.

اذا iẕā A adv. When: behold.

افطار ift̤ār A (inf. iv. of فطر) s. m. Breaking a fast. افطار کرنا ift̤ār karnā, To break oneʼs fast in the evening after fasting all day, as the Mu- salmāns do during the month of Ramaẓān.

اکهاڙ ukhāṛ S̱. (see اکهاڙنا) s. f. Rooting up, extir- pation.

انگڙه angaṛh H m. f. (from ان priv. and گڙهنا gaṛhnā, To form) adj. Unwrought, unform- ed; uneducated, unpolished, unfinished, unset (as a ring or jewel). انگڙهي بات angaṛhī bāt, Inconsistent or ill-arranged speech.

آلاپنا ālāpnā S̱. or alāpnā (आलापन see آلاپ ālāp) v. a. To tune the voice, to run over the different notes previous to singing, to catch the proper key, to sing, to time.

اببیکي a-bibek-ī अविवेकी S̱. adj. Indiscreet, inconsiderate, void of discretion.

اسکات iskāt A (inf. iv. of سکوت) s. f. Pacifying, soothing, silencing.
