جواٴي jawāʼī S̱. (properly, جماٴي for जामाता) s. m. A son-in-law.

جان jānn A s. m. (collect. of جنّ) The race of genii or demons. (Pers. jān).

جهڙنا jhaṛnā H v. n. To fall off (as, fruit from the tree), to be swept off, to shed, to emit, to drop, to fall, to pour, to shake, to strain, to be sound- ed (the نوبت), to be discharged (a volley).

جهڙاجهڙ jhaṛā-jhaṛ S̱. adv. Hastily, rapidly.

جوگي योगी jog-ī S s. m. 1. A Hindū faḳīr, a devotee. 2. A cast of Hindūs who are com- monly weavers. (The people of this cast do not burn, but bury their dead; and, the women are sometimes buried alive with their husbandʼs corpse).

جٿ jaṭ S̱. s. f. (जटा) Matted hair. جٿا دهاري जटाधारी jaṭā- dhārī, 1. adj. Whose hair is matted. 2. s. f. The cocks-comb flower, amaranth. (Celosia cristata).
