تراس tirās S̱. or trās, 1. (तृषा r. तृष Thirst) s. f. Thirst. تراس آنا يا لگنا tirās-ānā or -lagnā, To be thirsty. 2. trās (त्रास r. त्रस Fear) s. m. Fear, alarm, terrour.

تاخير tāḵẖīr A (inf. ii. of اخرت) s. f. Delay, procrastination, impediment. تاخيرکرنا tāḵẖīr karnā, To delay, procrastinate, postpone, retard.

تهاپي thāp-ī H s. f. 1. The noise of tapping. 2. The instrument with which potters beat their earth, or with which terraces are beaten.

تلطف talat̤t̤uf A (inf. v. of لطف) s. m. Kindness, obligingness, blandishment, favour. تلطف کرنا talat̤t̤uf karnā, To shew kindness or favour, to oblige.

تارتار tār-tār P Piecemeal, piece by piece; dis- tinctly. تارتاربولنا tār-tār bolnā, To speak in detail or distinctly. P. S̱. تارتوڙ tār-toṛ (تار Thread, and توڙ Break) s. m. A kind of sewing or needle work, open work, pulling out some threads, &c.

تريڙا tareṛā H s. m. The falling of water from a spout, or from any height.

تارا तारा tārā S s. m. 1. A star. 2. The ap- ple of the eye. 3. n. pr. The name of the wife of Rājā Bali. تاري توڙنا tāre toṛnā (dakh. i. q. مکرکرنا) To practise deceit. تاري گننا tāre ginnā, To count the stars, i. e. to get no sleep. تارامنڐل tārā-manḍal, The starry sphere.

تياگي त्यागी tyāg-ī S s. m. Abandoner, relin- quisher, forsaker, abdicator; but chiefly applied to the religious ascetick or him who abandons terrestrial objects, thoughts, passions, &c.

تاري tārī ताली S̱. s. f. 1. The clapping of hands. 2. A key. 3. Abstraction, absence of mind, absorption in thought or devotion.

تولا tolā तोल S̱. s. m. A denomination of weight, consisting of a number of māshas, which varies in different parts of India.
