تکفين takfīn A (inf. ii. of کفن) s. f. Putting on the winding sheet, laying in the coffin, &c. shrouding, sepulture. تکفين کرنا takfīn karna, To shroud, to coffin.

A person hired to pray for ano- ther, a private chaplain. تسبيح خواني tasbīḥ- ḵẖẉān-ī, The office of a chaplain.

تنبورا tambūrā A. s. m. corrupt. of طنبور t̤ambūr, q. v.

تنگي tang-ī P s. f. 1. Straitness, tightness, nar- rowness; distress, poverty, want. 2. A bag, a sack. تنگي کرنا tangī karnā, To be parsimo- nious. S. تنو तनु or तनू tanu or tanū, s. f. The body. See تن tan.
