تمن tuman P s. m. 1. Brotherhood, connexion, cast, &c. 2. Bevy, crowd, troop, squadron (properly, ten thousand). See تومان tomān. تمن باندهنا tuman bāndhnā, To collect a body of troops. تمن دار tuman-dār, The commander of a tuman. تمنداري tuman-dār-ī, s. f. The command of a tuman.

تفسير tafsīr A (inf. ii. of فسر Heb. He inter- preted) s. f. Explanation, commentary, para- phrase, an interpretation of the ḳurʼān.

تعويذ taﻌwīẕ A (inf. ii. of عوذ) s. m. 1. Having recourse to the deity, asking protection. 2. A charm, an amulet.

تضمين taẓmīn A (inf. ii. of ضمن) s. f. 1. Giving satisfaction for an injury. 2. Comprehending or including one thing in another. 3. Inserting the verses of another in oneʼs own poem. 4. Giving security. 5. Intrusting with another. 6. Lending on interest. 7. Putting in a purse or strong box. تضمين کرنا taẓmīn karnā, To insert the verses of another in oneʼs own poem, making the one correspond with the other.

تاڙ tāṛ ताल S̱. s. m. The palm tree (Borassus flabelliformis).

تهوتها thothā H 1. s. m. The name of a medi- cine. 2. An arrow without a point. 3. adj. Hollow, empty. 4. Toothless. تهوتهي بات tho- thī bāt, s. f. Word without meaning.
