ته نال tah-nāl P s. m. The mounting at the up- per end of a scabbard.

تلسي तुलसी tulsī S s. f. A small shrub held in veneration by the Hindūs, holy basil (Ocymum sanctum). Tulsī or Tulasī was a nymph be- loved by Kr̤ish̤ṇa and by him metamorphosed into this plant. تلسي داس tulsī-dās, n. p. Name of a Gosāʼīṅ. تلسي دانه tulsī-dāna, A gold or- nament. تلسي کاهيرا tulsī kā hīra, Beads made of the wood of the tulsī plant.

تهوتهني thūthnī S̱. s. f. (थोथ) The mouth of a horse, camel, &c.

تهرکنا thiraknā H v. n. To set oneʼs self off well in dancing, to dance with expressive action and gesture.

تيجا tījā तृतीया S̱. s. m. The third day after the death of a relation, on which oblations are offered. (Used among Musalmāns).

Twist, coil, contortion. تاودينا tāʼo denā, 1. To twist. 2. To stroke the whiskers. 3. To heat (as, iron). تاوکهانا tāʼo khānā, 1. To be heated. 2. To be angry.

تباره tibāra त्रिवार S̱. 1. adj. Thrice. 2. A hall or room with three doors.

ترتيب tartīb A (inf. ii. of رتب) s. f. Arrange- ment, disposition, order, method. ترتيب دينا tartīb denā, To order, arrange, compose, assort, &c.

تپري taprī H s. f. A mound, a small height, an acclivity.

تنزه tanazzuh A (inf. v. of نزه) s. m. Purity from vice, &c. studying continence.
