تخلص taḵẖalluṣ A (inf. v. of خلص) s. m. The titular name assumed by poets; as, Saudā was the taḵẖallūṣ of Mirzā Muhammad Rafīﻌ.

تابع tābi A (from تبع) part. act. Dependant, follower, subject. تابعدار tābiﻌ-dār (much used in Hindūstan, though ungrammatical) adj. De- pendant, follower. تابعداري tābiﻌ-dār-ī, s. f. Allegiance, obedience, fidelity, dependance. تابع کرنا tābiﻌ karnā, To control, to subject.

تکميل takmīl A (inf. ii. of کمل) s. f. Completing, finishing, perfection, excellence.

تني tinnī H s. f. A kind of rice.

تلاٿا talāṭā H s. m. (dakh.) 1. East. 2. See نيچي nīche.

تعجب taʼaﻌjjub A (inf. v. of عجب) s. m. Won- dering, admiration, astonishment, wonder, amaze, surprise. تعجب کرنا taʼaﻌjjub karnā, To won- der, admire.

تاوان tāwān P s. m. 1. Retaliation, recompense, amends. 2. Debt. 3. Fine, mulct. 4. Loan. (تاوان is used in opposition to قصاص ḳiṣāṣ, and means the price paid for blood). تاوان باندهنا يا لينا tāwān-bāndhnā or -lenā, To fine, to mulct. تاوان لگانا tāwān lagānā, To amerce.

تماشا tamāshā A. (for تماشي inf. vi. of مشي) s. m. 1. An entertainment, show, a spectacle. 2. Sight, amusement fun, pleasure. تماشا بيني tamāshā-bīn-ī, s. f. Luxury, libertinism. تماشا کرنا tamāshā karnā, v. a. 1. To see. 2. To take a walk. 3. To jeer, to jest. تماشا کنان ta- māshā-kunān, Beholding, looking at for amuse- ment. تماش بين tamāsh-bīn, A spectator; a rake, an epicure, a whoremaster. تماش بيني tamāsh-bīn-ī, s. f. Raking, whoring, gallantry. A.P. تماشاگاه tamāshā-gāh, s. f. A place of show, a theatre. A. H. تماشاي tamāshā-ī, 1. s. m. f. A spectator. 2. adj. Fit for a spectacle. AMERIC. تماکو tamākū (for تنباکو) s. m. Tobacco.

توره tora H s. m. 1. A number of trays, containing various dishes of food, presented to others by great men. 2. A nobleman, a minister. 3. Pride. توره پوش tora-posh, s. m. A covering for dishes, &c. توره بندي tora-bandī, s. f. The arrangement or sending out of trays of food as presents.

تڙاڙا taṛāṛā H s. m. Throwing water. See تريڙا.
