تراس tirās S̱. or trās, 1. (तृषा r. तृष Thirst) s. f. Thirst. تراس آنا يا لگنا tirās-ānā or -lagnā, To be thirsty. 2. trās (त्रास r. त्रस Fear) s. m. Fear, alarm, terrour.

تحقيق taḥḳīḳ A (inf. ii. of حقّ) 1. s. f. Ascer- taining, ascertainment, investigation, trial, verifi- cation, exactness, precision. 2. Truth, certain- ty. 3. adj. تانبڙا tāmbṛā S̱. (from ताम्र) s. m. 1. A copper colour (in pigeons). 2. A false stone resem- bling a ruby. See تامڙا.

تعارف taʼāﻌruf A (inf. vi. of عرف) s. m. 1. Mu- tual acquaintance. 2. Rule, fashion, custom.

تشيخ tashaiyuḵẖ A (inf. v. of شيخ) s. m. Osten- tatious pretence to, or display of rank or dignity.

تهوني thūnī H s. f. A post, pillar, column.

تفکر tafakkur A (inf. v. of فکر) s. m. 1. Reflec- tion, meditation, cogitation, considering. 2. Anxiety.

تقليل taḳlīl A (inf. ii. of قلّت) s. f. Diminishing, reduction, causing to look less.

تنقيه tanḳiya A (inf. ii. of نقي) s. m. 1. Purging, cleaning (the bowels). 2. Winnowing grain.

تال مکهانا tāl-makhānā H s. m. The name of a medicinal herb. (Barleria longifolia).
