پرياگ प्रयाग prayāg S s. m. A celebrated place of pilgrimage, the confluence of the Ganges and Jamunā with the supposed subterraneous addi- tion of the Saraswatī; the modern Ilāhābād.

پاٿ کرم pāṭ-kirm पट्टकृमि S̱. s. m. A silk- worm.

پرتهمي prathmī S̱. or pirthmī, (Sans. पृथिवी or पृथ्वी) s. f. The earth; ground.

پهٿ پڙنا phaṭ paṛnā S̱. v. n. 1. To be produced plentifully. 2. To become fat suddenly. 3. To be confounded with too much business. آسمان پهٿ پڙنا āsmān phaṭ paṛnā, v. n. To rain hard.

پان पान pān S s. m. 1. Drinking in general. 2. or pāṇi (for पाणि) The hand. 3. pān (for पर्ण) A leaf; betel leaf (leaves of Piper betel). پان اٿهانا pān uṭhānā or پان لينا pān lenā, To accept, to assent: see بيڙااٿهانا bīṛā uṭhānā, under بيڙا bīṛā. 4. pān, adj. in compos. (for پانچ pānch, q. v.) Five.

پرتهيناتهـ prithī-nāth पृथ्वीनाथ S̱. s. m. Lord of the earth; a sovereign, a king.
