پڙها paṛhā S̱. (from پڙهنا) part. pass. Read, learn- ed, of much reading. پڙهاگنا paṛhā-gunā, adj. A learned, experienced man.

پسين pasīn P adj. Last, posterior.

پات pāt पत्र S̱. s. m. 1. A leaf. 2. An orna- ment worn in the upper part of the ear. 3. A draught or check on a banker. پاتون آلگنا pā- toṅ-ā-lagnā, applied to trees, indicates the fall of their leaves in autumn: metaphorically, the phrase signifies that oneʼs power or ability is exhausted; and, this expression is often applied to patience exhausted by the scorn of a beloved person; or, to a destitute condition from ad- verse fortune.

پهينا phenā S̱. (फेन) s. m. Foam, froth.

پوٿلي poṭlī H s. f. A bundle.

پنيـﮩا panīhā S̱. (from पानीय) s. m. 1. Any thing living in water, aquatick. 2. A water- snake.

پر par P s. m. A feather, a quill, a wing. پرافشان par-afshān, adj. Expanding or shaking the wings. پرافشاني par-afshānī, s. f. Expansion or shaking of the wings. پربسته par-basta, Having the wings bound. پرٿوٿنا par-ṭūṭnā or پرجلنا par-jalnā, To be without power or ability. پرجهاڙنا par-jhāṛnā or پرگرانا par-girānā, 1. To pre- pare to fly. 2. To get new feathers after moulting. پرريخته par-reḵẖta, adj. Moulted (a bird). پرزن par-zan, Striking the wings, flying. پرزني par-zan-ī, s. f. Striking of the wings, fluttering, flying. پرشکسته par-shikasta, Distressed, af- flicted. پرفشاني par-fishānī, s. f. A shaking of the feathers or extension of the wings. پرنکالنا par-nikālnā, To display, on acquiring power, those qualities which remained concealed in po- verty or a low station.

پٿاخا paṭāḵẖā H (properly, پٿاکا from پٿاک A sound) s. m. A cracker, a squib.

پاٴي pāʼī S̱. (from पाद) s. f. A coin, the fourth part of an ānā.
