It may, also, be prefixed to Persian words beginning with a vowel; as, ازان az-ān, From that; ازین az-īn, From this.

آب خوره āb-ḵẖụra P s. A narrow-mouthed vessel for drinking out of, a cup for drinking water.

آشام āshām P part. act. (of آشامیدن) in compos. Drinking, drinker.

اختتام iḵẖtitām A (inf. viii. of ختم Heb. and Ch. He sealed, closed, finished) s. m. Finishing, end, conclusion, completion, fulfilment.

ادهیرجي adhīrjī S̱. f. (अधैर्य्या) (from अधीर) adj. Confused, perplexed.

اکهیڙوانا ukheṛwānā S̱. (caus. of اکهیڙنا) v. a. To cause to pluck up.

اشرفي ashrafī P s. f. A gold coin so called. (The Calcutta ashrafī is worth ₤1. 11s. 8d. and the gold of it is better than English standard gold by five shillings in the ounce, or about 1/16. By the regulations of May 1793, it should weigh 190.894 grains troy).

اجازت ijāzat A (inf. iv. of جوز) s. f. Permission, leave, dispensation, sanction, commands, orders. اجازت خواه ijāzat-ḵẖẉāh, adj. Asking per- mission. اجازت دینا ijāzat denā, To permit.

اوگهـ ओघ ogh S s. m. Multitude, aggregate (in general), a collection.

ادهرامرت अधरामृत adharāmr̤ita S s.m. Nectar of the lips.
