پرگيري pargīrī P s. f. An ortolan (a species of Alauda).

پرگهٿ parghaṭ S̱. adj. See پرگٿ pargaṭ.

پروان parwān H s. The yard (of a sail). پروان چڙهنا parwān chaṛhnā, To grow up (a phrase pe- culiar to women).

پرلي parlai S̱. or pralai (प्रलय from प्र and r. ली Dissolve) s. f. 1. A general destruction, such as at the flood or resurrection. 2. (met.) Vexation, fatigue, oppression, languor, disgust.

پهراس pharrās S̱. (r. स्फुर Start) s. m. The name of a tree. (Its leaves resemble those of the Cy- press or of the Tamarisk, and make a whistling noise in the wind; whence the name).

پنڐي pinḍī S. (पिंड A lump) s. f. 1. The upper part of a Siva-ling. 2. A lump of any thing that may be contained in the fist. 3. A small clue or ball of string. 4. A small altar of sand a cubit square, on which oblations to the manes are offered.

پاکڙيا pākaṛiyā S̱. (पर्कटी) s. m. The waved leaf Indian fig-tree. (Ficus venosa).

پينڐا painḍā S̱. (पंड r. पड Move) s. m. A road, highway, path. پينڐامارنا painḍā mārnā, 1. To stop a road. 2. To rob in the road.

پڙنا paṛnā S̱. (r. पत् Move, fall) v. n. 1. To fall. 2. To lie down, repose. 3. To befall, happen, occur. 4. To encamp. 5. To drop. 6. To be confined to bed by sickness. پڙرهنا paṛ rahnā or پڙي رهنا paṛe rahnā, To remain help- less, poor or destitute.

پاپي पापा pāp-ī S adj. m. A sinner, a criminal.
