پنجه panja P s. m. 1. A hand with the five fingers extended, claw, clutch, paw, grasp. 2. A sort of link or torch resembling the five fin- gers, which is also called پنج شاخه panj-shāḵẖa. 3. A hand made of ivory, &c. to scratch the back with. پنجه پهيرنا panja phernā, To over- come, to overpower. پنجه کرنا panja karnā, A kind of wrestling, wherein the antagonists lock their fingers together. پنجه کش panja- kash, 1. s. m. An iron instrument resembling a hand, with which wrestlers exercise themselves by locking their fingers into those of the instru- ment. 2. (A kind of bread) bearing the marks of five fingers.

پريشان pareshān P adj. Dispersed, perplexed, confused, troubled, amazed, dishevelled, dis- ordered, distracted, distressed, deranged, ruined, wretched. پريشان حال pareshān-ḥāl, Distressed in condition. پريشان خاطري pareshān-ḵẖāt̤ir-ī, s. f. Trouble of mind. پريشان دل pareshān-dil, adj. Troubled in mind. پريشان دلي pareshān-dil-ī, s. f. Trouble of mind. پريشان کرنا pare- shān karnā, To perplex, confuse, confound, trou- ble, distract, perturb, disorder, derange. پريشان کـﮩنا pareshān kahnā, To talk foolishly from ab- sence of mind. پريشان گوٴي pareshān-go-ī, s. f. Confused or absurd talk. پريشان نظري pare- shān-naz̤ar-ī, s. f. Confusion of sight.

پلوٿها palauṭhā H adj. First-born. (q. d. پـﮩ‍لااٿها pahlā uṭhā).

پهاڙکهاؤ phāṛ khāʼū S̱. adj. (dakh.) Ravenous; ravenous beast, &c. see درنده.

پنيا punyā S̱. (पुण्याह A holiday) s. f. The com- mencement of collection for the new year. (Used by landholders).

پليت palīt S̱. (perhaps, for प्रेत) s. m. A ghost.
