پيک pīk H s. f. The juice of the betel leaf chew- ed and spit out. پيکدان pīk-dān, s. m. A vessel for holding betel spittle, a spitting-pot.

پيلپا pīl-pā P adj. Afflicted with elephantiasis.

پتلو patlo S̱. (from पत्र) s. m. 1. The dead leaves fallen from a tree. 2. The leaves cut off from the culm of a reed (Saccharum spontaneum) and used for thatching.

پرکرما परिक्रमा परि and r. क्रम Go, step pari-kramā S. s. f. Act of going round to the right by way of adoration, circumambulation, going about. See طواف.

پنچورا panchorā H s. m. An earthen vessel with a narrow neck and a hole in the bottom. When filled with water and the mouth stopped, no water flows from the hole below till the hand or whatever stopped the mouth be removed. (It is used as an experiment to illustrate the doc- trine of the horror vacui by the followers of Aristotle).

پوه pauh H s. A stand where water is kept ready for travellers. See پو pau, sign. 2.

پرساد प्रसाद prasād S s. m. 1. Viand, victuals, food that has been offered to the deities. 2. Kindness, favour, blessing, gift. 3. Leavings of a great man or spiritual guide.

پرياگ प्रयाग prayāg S s. m. A celebrated place of pilgrimage, the confluence of the Ganges and Jamunā with the supposed subterraneous addi- tion of the Saraswatī; the modern Ilāhābād.
