پهرپهند pharphand H s. m. Deceit, trick, wickedness.

پهنکوانا phinkwānā S̱. (caus. of پهينکنا) v. a. To cause to fling or throw. ¶ phunkwānā (caus. of پهونکنا) v. a. To cause to blow, to cause to set on fire.

پروين प्रवीण pravīṇ S adj. Intelligent, skilful, knowing, conversant, accomplished, clever.

پاني pānī पानीय S̱. s. m. 1. Water. 2. Sperm. 3. Lustre, character, honour. پاني بهرنا pānī bharnā, To confess inferiority. پاني پڙنا pānī paṛnā, v. n. To rain. پاني پي پي کوسنا pānī pī pī kosnā, To curse excessively (i. e. till the throat, being dry, must be moistened by drinking). پاني جانا pānī jānā, v. n. 1. To be af- flicted with the fluor albus. 2. To be dis- graced. 3. To shed tears. پاني چلنا pānī chal- nā, v. n. To be afflicted with the fluor albus. پاني دينا pānī denā, To offer a libation of water to satisfy the manes of a deceased person, after the corpse has been burnt. پاني سي پتلاکرنا pānī se patlā karnā, To abash, to put to shame. پاني کابلبلا pānī kā bulbulā (A bubble of water) in- dicates instability. پاني کرنا pānī karnā, v. a. 1. To abash. 2. To facilitate. پاني مرنا pānī marnā, v. n. 1. To dry up, to be evaporated. 2. To exhibit signs confirming a suspicion. پاني مين آگ لگانا pānī meṅ āg lagānā, To re- vive a contention which had subsided. پاني نه مانگنا pānī na māngnā, To be slain with the single stroke of a sword, &c., and die instantly.

پرني pran-ī पणी S̱. adj. Resolute.

پاپڙا pāpṛā पर्पट S̱. s. m. A certain plant. (Gardenia latifolia. Roxb.).

پهونکنا phūnknā फुत्कार S̱. v. a. To blow with the breath; to blow up (a fire, &c.), inflame, set on fire, kindle, to blow (a horn, trumpet, &c.).

پالاگن pā-lāgan पादलग्न S̱. s. m. Obeisance by embracing the feet, reverence, respect, vene- ration.

پيازي رنگ piyāz-ī rang P s. m. A reddish co- lour, crimson.

پهساوٿ phasāwaṭ S̱. (from پهسانا) s. f. Entangle- ment, ensnaring.
