پشن पिशुन pishun S adj. Wicked, cruel.

پهرتي phirtī H (from پهرنا) part. f. or s. f. Returning, return, homeward-bound. پهرتي کابهاڙا phir- tī kā bhāṛā, The hire of a return boat, car- riage, &c.

پهبن phaban H (from پهبنا) s. f. Embellishment, ornament.

پهانکڙا phānkṛā H s. m. A fop.

پنجه panja P s. m. 1. A hand with the five fingers extended, claw, clutch, paw, grasp. 2. A sort of link or torch resembling the five fin- gers, which is also called پنج شاخه panj-shāḵẖa. 3. A hand made of ivory, &c. to scratch the back with. پنجه پهيرنا panja phernā, To over- come, to overpower. پنجه کرنا panja karnā, A kind of wrestling, wherein the antagonists lock their fingers together. پنجه کش panja- kash, 1. s. m. An iron instrument resembling a hand, with which wrestlers exercise themselves by locking their fingers into those of the instru- ment. 2. (A kind of bread) bearing the marks of five fingers.

پاراين पारायण pārāyaṇ S s. m. The act of reading a Purāṇ continually, without expres- sing its meaning.

پهوٿ phūṭ S̱. (स्फुटि r. स्फुट Separate, burst) s. f. 1. A kind of melon (Cucumis momordica: Roxb.). 2. A ripe cucumber bursting elasti- cally (as the Cucumis utilatissimus: Roxb. and Momordica mixta: Roxb.). 3. (स्फुट) Odd, unpaired. 4. Difference of opinion, dissension, discord. 5. Separation. 6. A flaw, breach, break. پهوٿ بکهيرا phūṭ bikherā, adj. Scat- tered, dispersed. پهوٿ پڙنا phūṭ paṛnā, To arise (dissension). پهوٿ پهوٿ ياپهوٿ کررونا phūṭ phūṭ or phūṭ kar ronā, To weep excessively, to burst into tears. پهوٿ رهنا phūṭ rahnā, 1. To be broken. 2. To be dispersed. 3. To be unpaired. پهوت هونا phūṭ honā, To be divided in opinion.

پـﮩيلي pahelī प्रहेलिका S̱. s. f. A riddle, an enigma.

پٿکا paṭkā पट्टि S̱. s. m. A cloth worn round the waist, a girdle. زري پٿکا zarī paṭkā, The golden girdle (an ensign conferred by the Pesh- wā on generals who are invested with authority immediately by him). پٿکاباندهنا paṭkā bāndh- nā, To determine on, or prepare for any act. پٿکاپکڙنا paṭkā pakaṛnā, To hinder, to obstruct. H.S̱. پٿکاجانا paṭkā jānā (from پٿکنا) v. n. To fall from oneʼs rank or estimation.
