پهندا phandā S̱. (r. पश Bind) s. m. 1. A noose, a net, a snare. 2. Perplexity, difficulty.

پهانس phāṅs S̱. (पाश) s. m. 1. A noose. 2. An impediment.

پچيسي pachīs-ī S̱. s. f. A game played with kauṛīs instead of dice, and so named from the highest throw, which is twenty five.

پهکارنا phikārnā H v. a. To bare or uncover the head, to unplait the hair of the head.

پوٿا poṭā H s. m. 1. An unfledged bird. 2. The eyelid. 3. The crop or craw (of birds). 4. Stomach. 5. The mucus of the nose, snot.

پرلا parlā H adj. Of the other side.

پهال phāl H s. f. 1. A lump of betel nut (Areca). 2. A step.

پاسباني pās-bān-ī P s. f. Watch, guard, guarding, the duty of a guard, protection, keeping.

پنجه panja P s. m. 1. A hand with the five fingers extended, claw, clutch, paw, grasp. 2. A sort of link or torch resembling the five fin- gers, which is also called پنج شاخه panj-shāḵẖa. 3. A hand made of ivory, &c. to scratch the back with. پنجه پهيرنا panja phernā, To over- come, to overpower. پنجه کرنا panja karnā, A kind of wrestling, wherein the antagonists lock their fingers together. پنجه کش panja- kash, 1. s. m. An iron instrument resembling a hand, with which wrestlers exercise themselves by locking their fingers into those of the instru- ment. 2. (A kind of bread) bearing the marks of five fingers.
