پراچين प्राचीन parāchīn S or prāchīn, adj. Old, of former times, ancient.

پهڙ phaṛ H s. f. 1. A gaming-house where dice are played. 2. A place where goods are ex- posed for sale. 3. The shafts or pole of a car- riage. پهڙباز phaṛ-bāz, s. m. 1. A player at dice, a gamester. 2. A prater, a talkative fel- low. پهڙبازي phaṛ-bāzī, s. f. Gambling, playing at dice.

پيـﮩم pai-ham P adv. Thickly, close together.

پوتنا potnā H v. a. To besmear, to plaster.

پريوا parewā H s. m. A pigeon.

پرهيز parhez P (from پرهيختن or پرهيزيدن) s.m. Ab- stinence, forbearance, continence, abstaining or keeping aloof, control of the passions, caution, sobriety. بدي پرهيز badī-parhez, Abstaining from evil. پرهيزکرنا parhez karnā, v. a. 1. To control oneʼs passions. 2. To abstain (from), to keep aloof, or be on oneʼs guard (from), to avoid. 3. To observe a regimen.

پرورد parward P (from پروردن) 1. adj. Bred, reared, brought up, nou- rished. 2. (used substantively) A slave.

پشم pashm P s. f. 1. Wool, hair, fur; a thing of no moment. 2. Pubes tum maris tum feminæ. پشم پرمارنا pashm par mārnā, To be perfectly contented and independent, to despise, to dis- regard. پشم سمجهنا pashm samajhnā, To des- pise. پشم نه اکهڙنا pashm na ukhaṛnā, To suffer nothing from the enmity of another, not a hair of the head to be touched. (Spoken in great contempt of an adversary).

پيخال pīḵẖāl P s. m. Dung of birds.
