پود pūd P s. Woof, the threads woven in the breadth of a piece of cloth across the warp, which is called in Persian تار tār.

پاکهر pākhar H s. f. Iron armour for the defence of a horse or of an elephant. S̱. پاکهنڐ (पाषंड्य) pākh̤anḍ or pāsh̤anḍ, s. m. Wickedness, deceit, hypocrisy, heresy.

پسيوها pasevhā S̱. (प्रस्वेदः) s. m. Perspiration, sweat.

پلڙي pilṛī H s. f. Forced meat.

پينجنا pīnjnā H v. a. To clean cotton from the seeds.

پچارا puchārā H s. m. 1. A thin coat of clay for laying on a wall. 2. The sponge of a gun. پچاراپهيرنا puchārā phernā, To sponge a gun. پچارادينا puchārā denā, To lay a thin coat of clay on the walls of a house; to whitewash a wall.

پهپهولا phapholā S̱. (स्फोट) s. m. A blister. پهپهولي پهوٿني phaphole phūṭne, v. n. To be blistered; it is used to express the mind being blistered, to be afflicted. پهپهولي دل کي پهوڙني phaphole dil ke phoṛne, To satisfy a revenge that has long been rankling in oneʼs breast.

پيک pīk H s. f. The juice of the betel leaf chew- ed and spit out. پيکدان pīk-dān, s. m. A vessel for holding betel spittle, a spitting-pot.

پيلهڙا pelhṛā H s. m. See پيلڙ pelaṛ.

پاٿي pāṭī पट्टिका S̱. s. f. 1. The side pieces of a bedstead. 2. A kind of mat. 3. A kind of board on which children learn to write. 4. Divisions of the hair which is combed towards the two sides and parted by a line in the mid- dle. 5. A kind of sweetmeat.
