پهٿنا phaṭnā स्फटन S̱. v. n. To be torn, split, rent, broken, cracked, to burst, split.

پيننا pennā S̱. v. a. (dakh.) See پـﮩنا pahinnā.

پاسبان pās-bān P s. m. f. A sentinel, a watch, a watchman, a guard, a shepherd.

پولا pūlā S̱. (पूल r. पूल Heap together) s. m. A bundle or truss of grass or straw. پولي تلي گذران کرنا pūle tale guẕrān karnā (lit. to live under a bundle of straw) implies a very destitute condi- tion.

پهرهرا pharahrā H 1. s. m. A vane, a pennant. 2. adj. Half-dried.

پاپوش pā-posh P s. f. A slipper.

پهليا phaliyā S̱. (from फल) s. f. A cod, a pod (or the seed) of any legumi- nous plant, but particularly of peas. 2. A loop. پهلي کش phalī-kash, s. m. A hook for drawing the strings through the holes by which the walls of a tent are laced to the top.

پرور parwar P part. act. and pass. (from پروردن) used in compos. A patron, protector, nourisher, cherisher: educated, cherished. As, غريب پرور g̠ẖarīb-parwar, Cherisher of the poor. سايه پرور sāya-parwar, adj. Educated in the shade or at home; soft, delicate, knowing little of the world.
