پنج panj P adj. 1. Five. (Sans. पंच). 2. Of seven years old (a horse). نئي پنج naye panj, Of five years old. ملي پنج male panj, Of ten years old. (These phrases are applied to horses only). پنجروزه panj-roza, The space of five days. پنج عيب شرعي panj-aﻌib-i-sharʼīﻌ. adj. Very vicious (possessed of five vices, i. e. 1. Robbery. 2. Adultery. 3. Gaming. 4. Drunk- enness. 5. Falsehood). پنج آيت panj-āyat, The five chapters of the ḳurʼān, which are read during the mourning of a Musalmān. پنج تن پاک panj tan-i-pāk, Five holy persons (i. e. 1. Muhammad. 2. Alī. 3. Fātima. 4. Hasan.

پونچهنا ponchhnā H or pūnchhnā, v. a. To wipe.

پري دار parī-dār P adj. (One) possessed by fairies or demons, or who commands them.

پراني प्राणी prāṇ-ī S adj. Having life, an animal, an animated being.

پهٿ پڙنا phaṭ paṛnā S̱. v. n. 1. To be produced plentifully. 2. To become fat suddenly. 3. To be confounded with too much business. آسمان پهٿ پڙنا āsmān phaṭ paṛnā, v. n. To rain hard.

پينتيس paintīs पंचत्रिंशत् S̱. adj. Thirty five.

پدهارنا padhārnā S̱. (पद Foot, and धारणं Pla- cing) v. n. To go, proceed, depart, arrive.

پنچکهنا panch-khanā S̱. (पंच Five, and खंड A part) adj. Consisting of five floors or stories (a house, &c.).

پهوکٿ phokaṭ H s. m. An indigent person.
