ابریق ibrīḳ A s. m. An ewer.

آدمیت ādmīyat A s. f. Humanity, civility. آدمیت پکڙنا ādmīyat pakaṛnā, To become ci- vilized. آدمیت سکهلانا ādmīyat sikhlānā, or آدمیت مین لانا ādmīyat meṅ lānā, To civilize. آدمیت کرنا ādmīyat karnā, To behave with humanity.

اجلت ujjalit S̱. (उत् and ज्वलित Blazing) adj. Pure, clean, clear.

استغراق istig̠ẖrāḳ A (inf. x. of غرق) s.m. Drowning, the being immersed, absorbed, or wholly engaged (in any thing). ¶ adj. Drowned, im- mersed in thought, engrossed, wholly employed, drowned in sleep, &c.

آب دار āb-dār P (آب q. v. and دار Having) s. m. The person entrusted with the charge of water for drinking: any thing full of water or splendour, as fruits, jewels, pearls, swords. adj. Polished, clear, of a good water (as gems), well tempered (as steel), sharp (as a sword).

آم ām S̱. (आम्र āmra) s. m. The mango tree (Mangifera Indica); the mango fruit.

آهنين āhan-īṅ P adj. Of iron, iron, made of iron. آهنين پنجه āhanīṅ- panja, adj. Iron-handed, strong, powerful.

اذبک uẕbak T s. m. Name of a Tartar tribe or nation.

آم بات ām-bāt आमवात S̱. s. m. A swel- ling which comes without pain, and goes off as easily without medicine; a windy tumour.

ادوت udot S̱. (from उत् and r. द्युत Shine) s. f. Shining, splendour, rising (of the moon, &c.).
