بدهنا badhnā H s. m. A kind of pot with a spout to it, a vessel for drinking water from.

بري barī S. 1. (for वटी) s. f. A dish made of pulse. 2. (from वर) Wedding garment. 3. (for बली) adj. Strong, powerful.

بادلي bādalī H s. f. Silver cloth.

بارج bārij S (वारिज comp. of वारि Water, and ज Born) s. m. A lotus. بارج نين bārij- nayan, adj. Having eyes like the flower of the lotus.

بن پڙنا ban-paṛnā H v. n. To succeed, to answer, to suit, to come to pass.

بلوا balūʼā S̱. (from بالو or बालुका) adj. Sandy.

بان پرستهـ वानप्रस्थ bānaprastha S s. m. One who retires from the world with his wife and family, and passes his life in devotion in the fo- rests; an anchoret or hermit. See آسرم.

بهگانا bhagānā H (trans. of بهاگنا) v. a. To cause to flee or escape, to cause to run away, to drive away. ¶ bhigānā (trans. of بهيگنا) v. a. To wet, moisten, steep.

ب ba P prep. (often prefixed to another word, but, when standing alone, written به) With, by, for, in, into, to, up to, on, upon. S̱. ب (ब) ba, may stand for برن (वरुण) baruṇ, The god of water. It may, also, denote Sun, ocean, or water.

بليلوٿن billī-loṭan S̱. (from بلي A cat, and لوٿن Tum- bling, rolling) s. m. Valerian.
