بهٿ भठ्ट bhaṭṭ S s. m. 1. A learned man. 2. A title of Mahārātta Brāhmans.

بهو भव bhav S or bhava, s. m. 1. Existence, the world. 2. A name of Siva. بهوساگر भवसागर bhava-sāgar, The ocean of the world or of exis- tence.

برنا barnā H v. n. To burn. See بلنا balnā.

بان bān A s. m. 1. Name of a tree, سهجنا sahaj- nā (Guilandina moringa) the seeds of which are called ḥabbu-l-bān, Ben-nut; or, according to some, بکاين bakāyan (Melia sempervirens). 2. Name of the tree which yields Benzoin (Styrax Benzoe). 3. A tree, the leaves and flowers of which are sweet-scented, called by the Persians Bed-mushk.

بشير bashīr A s. m. A messenger of good tidings.

برف barf P s. m. f. Ice, snow. برف پرورد barf- parward, adj. Iced, cooled in ice.

بکهرنا bikharnā S̱. (वि and r. कृ Scatter) v. n. 1. To be scattered, dispersed or dishevelled. 2. To become angry (Hindawī).

باقيات bāḳiyāt A s. plur. (of باقي) Remainders, balances, arrears.

بکي bukkī H s. f. 1. A cloth brought over the shoulders under the armpits and tied behind. 2. A handful: see بکا bukkā. بکي مارنا bukkī mārnā, To pass a cloth under the armpits and tie it behind.

بهنڐسالي bhanḍsālī भांडशाली S. s. m. One who reserves provision for years.
